New bridge on Vistula opened!
New bridge on Vistula opened!The new Vistula bridge of John Paull II in Puławy is a real masterpiece. Its construction and parameters exceed to a large extent the European achievements so far made. 17 companies were interested in the new bridge construction. Companies of the highest level competed to realize this investment. Finally the contractor was consortium: "Mosty Łódź" S.A. (leader), Hermann Kirchner Bauunternehmung GmbH, Vistal Sp. z o. o. The new bridge’s construction took over two years, but it was worth waiting for. No more traffic jams and folding mirrors to pass the old bridge in Puławy (in 2005 the longest traffic jam lasted for 10 hours). The new bridge is a possibility to pass the river smoothly and nicely. Its length is 1032,8 meter long, its width is 22 m, including two roadways each 7 m wide , divided by a 2,5 meter lane. It a record investment! The new bridge together with the town’s ringroad costed 400 million zloty, the cost of the bridge itself was of around 170 million zloty. The calculated cost of the second part of the ringroad is further 300 million zloty. The town’s ringroad will implement interesting technical solutions: multilevel crossroads, eco-friendly elements. The project includes special passages for animals, rainwater pretreatment plants and green lanes. The whole investment aimed result is to create an important national and international road route to the purpose of transit and tourist traffic management.
